Introducing a Ceiling Fan: Wiring Diagram #1 – Power Enters at the Wall Switch Box
Power Starting at the Switch Box
- This wiring chart demonstrates the power beginning at the switch box where a graft is made with the hot line which passes the ability to the two switches, and up to the roof fan and light.
- The power is furnished by a 2-wire link with a ground wire which makes a sum of 3 wires.
- A 3-wire link is then taken from the switch box up to the affirmed roof fan intersection box. The wires are associated with the leads from the roof fan. ceiling fan wiring diagram

I have a change box with power originating from an outlet with 14/2. I ran 14/3 wire from the fan installation to the switch box. My fan has a light unit and need to control it with one combo switch.
The switch has: dark, green, red(fan) and yellow(light) wires.
In the switch box I have white/white, dark change to dark hot, red change to dark fan, yellow change to red fan and each of the three greens together. In the fan apparatus I have: dark/dark, white/white, red/red and green/green.ceiling fan wiring diagram

- Dismantle affixes – to change fan speed and lights
- Remote control – accessible on new or existing fans to alter fan speed and lights
Divider control – to alter fan speed and lights, divider controls are accessible for it is possible that a couple of wire/switch designs.ceiling fan wiring diagram
